We asked our Skullyz Brand Ambassadors a few questions to learn moreabout what mental health awareness means to them, what inspires their journey, and why they proudly represent Skullyz Apparel. Their answers reflect the strength, honesty, and hope that define our community.
1. What does mental health awareness mean to you?
A: Mental health awareness to me is key to everyday life. Good and poor mental health are something we need to be able to feel comfortable and safe talking about with others, regardless of age, gender, race or abilities. There is still stigmatism about speaking up and out, yet it is one the bravest thing someone can do, being honest about how we truly feel is hard and makes us feel vulnerable too and can therefore make us more scared to speak up. Safe spaces, awareness and acceptance are key for a supportive and welcoming community.
2.What’s one piece of advice you’d share with someone who is struggling?
A:Tomorrow is a new day to start a new story, a new chapter. You don't have to write it alone. What you feel is valid and you're probably not the first nor the last person to think or feel this way.
3.Which Skullyz design or quote speaks to you the most, and why?
A:You are stronger than you know. This is so true, sometimes we can't see our self worth and how strong we are. We are human, we will have ups and downs however we continue to wake up and that takes strength too. Even the small tasks we take for granted take strength and courage to do.
4.What helps you stay strong on your toughest days?
A:Knowing that even after the storm the sun will shine again. Knowing I have such a wonderful family and few close friends (quality over quantity) that offer me safe space to vent, confirm my feelings and thoughts are valid and listen. Also knowing that I am not alone and speaking up can also offer comfort to others who are having tricky days too. Being able to offer a safe environment to talk in person, via text or online is also comforting too.
5.What message do you hope people take away when they see you wearing Skullyz Apparel?
A:Even if one person sees me wearing Skullyz Apparel and they feel validated, seen and not alone, that is huge! Each design can make people turn, read and think "what a great message" and can relate that can change someone's mindset in seconds and is so impactful.

- What does mental health awareness mean to you? I have felt like I needed to keep my mental health to myself for most of my life, I never felt I could speak or show how mental health has affected me. It always felt like something I should be ashamed of.
I have come to realise very slowly, too slowly, that we all need and deserve to speak and be heard but it isn't always a safe thing to do unless you know who the right people are.
Skullyz really helped me to realise that we can create a safe space, that there is a community of people that will care for one another. This is what Mental Health Awareness means to me: Knowing I have options, I can have hope. - What’s one piece of advice you’d share with someone who is struggling?
Talk to someone, anyone you feel comfortable with and if all else fails, speak to me. My inbox is always open - Which Skullyz design or quote speaks to you the most, and why?
Masks we Wear is the design that speaks to me most. I have felt that I have spent my life wearing a mask of some description. - What helps you stay strong on your toughest days?
My wife and kids and a very small group of people closest to me - What message do you hope people take away when they see you wearing Skullyz Apparel?
That there is someone they can talk to, that they are not alone.
